Time bomb

... or, as its locally known, La Bomba del Tiempo, is a crazy show of live, improvised drumming. The concert is held every Monday in a massive warehouse, and it is the one and only place to be at the beginning of a Porteno week. About twenty musicians feverishly beat their drums, arranged in semi-circle overlooking the alternative, grungy crowd. The most impressive is probably the conductor, who stands in the middle and directs the improvised music. He alternatively makes the "shut up" sign to drummers at his left, or signals to a musician to hike up the volume-- and all his gestures translate into an incredible, contagious beat.

Poor picture -- blame the lighting and the throngs of tourists-- but you get the idea.
